Teacher Training
All teachers want their students to succeed, but may not have had the training to get them there.
Equip educators with the knowledge and practices rooted in the Science of Reading research base, and deliver effective Structured Literacy instruction while honoring their past experiences.
Through our training, teachers will:
- Recognize the importance of assessment, curriculum, and instruction in district literacy success
- Understand the five components of reading and the role they play in effective literacy instruction
- Distinguish different instructional approaches to better decipher which approaches are evidence-based and aligned with the Science of Reading
- Explore topics such as the cognitive underpinnings of reading and writing acquisition and understanding struggling readers
- Become familiar with the linguistic structure of English, phonology, morphology, and syntax
- Discover how to deliver explicit, systematic, cumulative, and integrated literacy instruction in phonics, reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension
- Evaluate current practices
- Design goals and monitor students to ensure literacy progress
- Implement evidence-based instruction featuring explicit, direct, systematic instruction to drive impact and create sustainable change
Classroom Coaching
All teachers want their students to improve, but may not have had the support to get them there.
