Glean’s Manifesto

We Believe:

  • Literacy is a civil right.
  • All school leaders should have the resources and support to create systems that help their teachers and students thrive.
  • All teachers should have the knowledge and tools to deliver explicit, systematic, cumulative, and sequential Structured Literacy instruction grounded in the science of reading research base.
  • All students can learn to read and write.

We are committed to:

  • Supporting school leaders on their path to adopting practices grounded in the Science of Reading by building relationships that contribute to lasting change.
  • Providing teachers with the knowledge and support they need to improve student literacy and make positive impacts in their communities.
  • Meeting students where they are and helping their schools build the resources to get them where they need to be.

We want to live in a world where:

  • School leaders make informed decisions about school improvement systems and have the knowledge base to create sustainable change.
  • Teachers have access to resources needed to feel supported and confident in their teaching.
  • Students experience learning conditions that allow them to reach their full potential.

We want nothing more than to:

  • Transform the way public education systems approach literacy instruction and standardize research-based approaches that get all kids reading and writing.
  • Help school systems run smoothly and optimize student literacy outcomes.

We care deeply about:

  • The experience of school leaders.
  • The experience of educators.
  • The experience of students.

We are crazy about:

  • Building relationships with leaders to better understand their pain points and tailor our services to meet their unique needs.
  • Coaching teachers on how to meet their students where they are, and get them to where they need to be.
  • Designing and delivering best-in-class training experiences where educators feel respected, appreciated, and inspired.
  • Translating research on effective literacy instruction to the field
